Netflix shares huge Wednesday season 3 update as Stranger Things icon joins cast

📅 24/02/2026

Wednesday fans are dying to find out what happens next in Netflix's hit Addams Family spin-off after that disturbing season two cliffhanger.

Wednesday may have been gone for just a matter of months but Netflix has already released a major season three update.

It didn't take long before Netflix announced a third outing would be on the way for the Addams Family spin-off but now the streamer has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to reveal that series three is now officially in the works.

What's even more exciting is the fact that it includes a short teaser of Lurch dancing around what appears to be a dinner party setting with the stars' names featured on plates and table place cards.

Of course, these include Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzman as Gomez.

But midway through the teaser, a very exciting name is shown, introducing none other than Stranger Things legend Winona Ryder to the cast of Wednesday season three.

It is revealed on a dessert bowl that Ryder is going to be playing a character called Tabitha but further details of who she is hasn’t yet been made known.

She won't be the only recognisable face to join the cast though as Ryder will be joined by Peaky Blinders' Noah Taylor, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms actor Oscar Morgan, The Princess Bride's Chris Sarandon and Roofman actor Kennedy Moyer.

Netflix has teased that there will be even more joining the cast for the upcoming third series which is currently being filmed near Dublin, Ireland.

They will join Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children actress Eva Green who was previously announced as Morticia Addams' sister Ophelia who was briefly seen in the last few moments of series two, locked up in Grandma Hester Frump's (Joanna Lumley) basement daily-mirror-icon_tv_tv-news_netflix.

The streamer has shared that there will be more "additional details" to come at a later date.

However, it isn't clear how much Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) will feature as her place card in the teaser is burnt.

Enid was last seen transformed into a werewolf and unable to change back but will Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) be able to help her best friend?

Creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar said in a statement: “It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more as we begin production on season three.

"We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom.

"To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary - your twisted theories have inspired nightmares.

"This season we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”

Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
